According to the FMCSA, the ELD mandate “applies to most motor carriers and drivers who are currently required to maintain records of duty status (RODS) per Part 395, 49 CFR 395.8(a).”

However, the mandate allows limited exemptions, including:
* Drivers who operate under the short-haul exceptions.
* Drivers who use paper RODS for not more than 8 days out of every 30-day period.
* Drivers who conduct drive-away-tow-away operations, in which the vehicle being driven is the commodity being delivered.
* Drivers of vehicles manufactured before 2000.

My20 Tower is $25 per month, billed every three months.

Yes. My20 is on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) registry of compliant ELD devices. Choosing an ELD from the approved registry ensures that your truck or fleet is logging hours of service (HOS) in compliance with the FMCSA’s ELD rule, but it also ensures that the product was tested and continues to comply with FMCSA standards.
An ELD is a system consisting of a telematics hardware device and software to record activity. The hardware device interfaces with the Engine Control Module (ECM) on a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV); the software records location, engine activity, and hours of service.
My20 supports iOS 10.0 (or higher) or Android 5.0 (or higher) devices. Konexial recommends iPhone 6 (or higher) or Samsung Galaxy 6 (or higher) devices.
On the top right of the home screen, My20 will tell you ELD Status. “ELD connected” or “No ELD Connected.” NOTE: If “No ELD connected”, make sure power is on to My20 ELD box (green light on) and tap to scan for your ELD hardware. If the problem persists, check to see if Bluetooth AND Location services on your mobile device are turned on, both are required to connect to the My20 ELD.
