FMCSA ELD Implementation National Tour

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is touring the country to help you and other commercial motor vehicle drivers (CMV) get acquainted with electronic logging devices (ELDs). It’s called the FMCSA ELD Implementation National Tour, and the FMCSA wants to see you there! If you haven’t heard about the FMCSA ELD Implementation National Tour yet, here’s a quick primer: the FMCSA ELD Implementation National Tour is a public outreach and education campaign geared towards helping commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers and carriers learn about and transition to using ELDs. Their goal? To help ensure that you’re ready for the December 2017 ELD compliance deadline.

This nation-wide tour gives commercial drivers and carriers the opportunity to learn more about driver or carrier responsibilities surrounding ELDs, plus helpful ways to make sure your paper to e-log transition is as smooth as possible. Whether you come for FMCSA’s free seminars for drivers and fleet owners, the informative e-log implementation-based sessions and exhibits, to visit the interactive FMCSA booth (full of consumer-friendly resources and materials), or to talk directly to a FMCSA subject matter expert, your time will be well spent!

The ELD implementation tour takes place at various trucking shows, conventions, and expos throughout the nation. If you still have questions about ELD compliance, electronic logging devices themselves, or logistical questions surrounding your ability to transition from paper to e-logs, now’s your chance to learn new ways to operate, to network, and to take your questions directly to FMCSA experts.

The national tour officially started July 13th, but it runs through November 8th, 2017, so there’s still time to join in at a city near you! Just find the city and trucking show nearest you, then come find the FMCSA booth!

With the ELD compliance date quickly approaching, FMCSA wants to make sure that drivers and carriers, who are subject to the ELD mandate, have all the information they need to complete a smooth transition into ELDs — ideally, well before the December deadline. However, if you are unable to attend one of these trucking events, FMCSA’s website has helpful materials and resources, as well as webinars, to help you find the information you seek.
