Carrier Spotlight: Beaird Logistics

As a team, Konexial is committed to creating technology that enables drivers to improve their lives. When the ELD mandate went into effect in December 2017, many companies made quick decisions on which ELD to choose for their fleets. These quick decisions left several companies less than satisfied with their ELD provider.

The team at Konexial hears experiences like this more often than we like. Our friends at Beaird Logistics have a similar story of “ELD redemption.” Dave Beaird started Beaird Logistics, headquartered in Frisco, TX, in 2018 on the heels of the 2017 ELD mandate. Dave is a logistics veteran, running transportation divisions for several multinational companies. His drivers haul all kinds of freight, “the non-glamourous stuff” he says, through Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. As he started Beaird Logistics, Dave considered himself a “believer in regulation,” he understood the ELD mandate and was not going to fight it. He was on board with implementing ELD but the hard part was finding the right ELD for his team and business.

Beaird chose an ELD that, at the time, was convenient for him. Dave was running driver qualification and drug and alcohol programs through this legacy company and when the sales representative offered an ELD solution, he agreed to try it out. The original ELD was an overly large hardware device with multiple cables and wires to attach to the driver’s dash. On top of the unattractiveness of the actual hardware device, the troubleshooting and customer service were non-existent. They needed to make a change.

As they started researching other ELD providers, one of Dave’s drivers came across ELD Ratings (www.eldratings.com). After reaching out to the My20 ELD team, Dave was all in with making the switch to My20. “The size of the ELD and the fact that you just plug it in sold me. The size is a GOLD MINE. The last thing my drivers want is another piece of hardware connected in their cab,” says Beaird.

Not only was the installation and implementation easy for the team at Beaird Logistics, Dave and his drivers were finally supported by an ELD provider that cares for the drivers. “The customer support is impeccable,” says Beaird. “My drivers had questions on how to use the ELD and Bryan at My20 held their hand to make sure all bases were covered.”

Not only is the My20 ELD hardware designed with the driver in mind, Dave chose the My20 Tower which provides full transparency into his fleet. As the owner of Beaird Logistics, Dave says he is the “master dispatcher.” He uses My20 Tower features to track where his drivers are and how much duty time they have left in their duty cycle. “Everything I need to know about my trucks is all easy to find on The Tower. It’s phenomenal.”

We asked Dave what he would say to someone looking for a new ELD provider, “CALL MY20. End of story.”
